Simple & Fun Fall Craft The Whole Family Will Love

Fall is the perfect time to slow down, get cozy, and create something fun with the family. If you’re looking for an easy craft that works for kids and adults alike, these DIY Fall Magnets are just the thing! Not only are they adorable, but they’re also super simple to make—and you can find everything you need at Hobby Lobby.

DIY Fall Craft Supplies

Supplies You’ll Need

  • Air dry clay
  • Acrylic paint (in fun fall shades—orange, mustard yellow, deep red, forest green)
  • Fall-themed cookie cutters (leaves, pumpkins, acorns, etc.)
  • Hot glue gun
  • Mini magnets

Step-By-Step Instructions

1. Roll & Cut

Take a chunk of air dry clay and roll it out flat (about ¼ inch thick). Use your fall cookie cutters to cut out fun shapes like pumpkins, leaves, and acorns.

2. Dry

Let the shapes fully dry according to the clay’s instructions.

Tip: Depending on the thickness of clay, I recommend letting them dry 24 hours.

3. Paint

Once dry, grab your acrylic paints and decorate! Go classic with orange pumpkins and red leaves, or let the kids get creative with polka dots, glitter paint, or even metallics.

4. Attach Magnets

After the paint is completely dry, use a hot glue gun to attach a mini magnet to the back of each shape.

Tip: I recommend putting the hot glue on the clay and then adding the magnet. (It sticks better.)

5. Display & Enjoy

Pop your magnets on the fridge, a magnetic chalkboard, or even gift them to friends and teachers for a little seasonal cheer.
