This family dinner idea is a recipe in our weekly dinner rotation. All the picky eaters in my family are a fan of my Sausage Alfredo dinner.

It a great twist on the classic Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo.

Let’s Get Ready To Cook!

Sausage Alfredo

STEP ONE: Put a pot of heavily salted water on the stove and bring to a boil.

STEP TWO: While you wait for the water to boil, slice up your sausage. (You can use beef or turkey. My family prefers turkey.)

STEP THREE: Dump your sliced sausage into a skillet and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Then set aside.

STEP FOUR: In a small saucepan, put cream cheese, butter and heavy cream. Add in a pinch of salt and pepper, 2 teaspoons of Italian seasoning and about half a teaspoon of garlic powder. Measure the seasonings with your heart. Then set aside.

STEP FIVE: Into your pot of boiling water, pour one pound (a box) of fusilli pasta and cook as instructed on the box.

STEP SIX: While your pasta is cooking, turn the burns on for your sausage and sauce. Occasionally mix the sausage so that it doesn’t burn. Also stir sauce to help thicken. Once your sauce has thickened up, add in parmesan cheese. Again, measure with your heart.

STEP SEVEN: Cut the heat from your sausage and sauce. Drain your pasta and return it to the pot. Add your sausage to the pot with the pasta, then add the sauce and mix together. Do a final taste test and add more salt and pepper to your liking.

This dish pairs great with a small side salad and/or garlic bread!

ENJOY!!

Ingredients

  • 1 Box Fusilli Pasta

  • Half Block of Cream Cheese

  • 3 TBSP Butter

  • 2 Cups Heavy Cream

  • 1 – 2 Cups Parmesan Cheese

  • Turkey or Beef Smoked Sausage

  • Salt and Pepper (to taste)

  • 1-2 TSP Garlic Powder

  • 1-2 TPS Onion Powder

  • 1-2 TPS Italian Seasoning

  • I tend to go more on the seasonings, but that is because if you aint sneezin’ it aint seasoned.

Directions

  • Put a pot of heavily salted water on the stove and bring to a boil.
  • While you wait for the water to boil, slice up your sausage.
(You can use beef or turkey. My family prefers turkey.)
  • Dump your sliced sausage into a skillet and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Then set aside.
  • In a small saucepan, put cream cheese, butter and heavy cream. Add in a pinch of salt and pepper, 2 teaspoons of Italian seasoning and about half a teaspoon of garlic powder. Measure the seasonings with your heart. Then set aside.
  • Into your pot of boiling water, pour one pound (a box) of fusilli pasta and cook as instructed on the box.
  • While your pasta is cooking, turn the burns on for your sausage and sauce. Occasionally mix the sausage so that it doesn’t burn. Also stir sauce to help thicken. Once your sauce has thickened up, add in parmesan cheese. Again, measure with your heart.
  • Cut the heat from your sausage and sauce. Drain your pasta and return it to the pot. Add your sausage to the pot with the pasta, then add the sauce and mix together. Do a final taste test and add more salt and pepper to your liking.

Notes

  • You can use any type of pasta. Farfalle (Bow Ties) or Cellentani pastas are also great with this dish. You can even use Fettuccini noodles.
  • I have made this dish with both beef sausage and turkey sausage. As I mentioned my family prefers the turkey. IF you use beef, it may be a tad on the greasy side.
